MGM offers Charter Flights towards Borgata Atlantic City Casino
Earlier this week MGM Resorts International made an interesting announcement, the company will start offering charter flights towards the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City. This great new service will be available for qualified members of its M Life Rewards Program. The unique charter flights will be available from dozens of cities across the United States.
Charter Flight available from up to 75 cities
In the statement published by MGM it becomes clear that the gaming company wants to offer flights from up to 75 different cities. The flights towards the New Jersey seaside resort will be operated by Sun Country Airlines. People who catch a flight will be transferred by an 173-seater (Boing 737-800). Once available, flights will take off from a wide range of cities in the USA including Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh.
M Life Rewards loyalty program
According to Sean Farrell, MGM’s executive director of charter services, offering the new chartered flights is a huge milestone for the company. The flights will be a great addition to the current service of the company which allows members to fly towards the Beau Rivage Resort on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast.
Catching a flight is only available for selected members which meet certain requirements of the company’s M Life Rewards program.
According to Tim Kroll, director of the Atlantic City International Airport, the casino won’t be the only company benefiting the flights.
”The expansion of Borgata’s flight service through ACY on Sun Country Airlines significantly increases the airport’s charter offerings and affords more passengers convenient access to Atlantic City,” he said. “The program is valuable to introducing the market to a greater number of communities throughout the U.S.”
Sean Farrell did agree with Kroll and stated that Borgata visitors will also be able to visit the popular Atlantic City Boardwalk and other attractions in the area.
Second launch of charter service
Not only MGM announced the launch of a charter service towards Atlantic City, two weeks earlier Hard Rock International announced that they will start offering charter flight towards their New Jersey venue.
The Hard Rock Casino and Borgata are currently the biggest brick-and-mortar casinos in Atlantic City according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Borgata reported the biggest revenue with a sum of $48,7 million in gross gaming during May. The Hard Rock Casino reached a total sum of $35 million. No other casino in Atlantic City reached more than $24,6 million.
”Both casinos have also been significantly ahead of their peers in terms of year-to-date totals as well. The Borgata reported a total win of $208.9 million for the first five months of the year, while Hard Rock reported $151.1 million for the same time span.”
The biggest player behind Borgata and the Hard Rock Casino is the Ocean Casino Resort, which reported a total of $100 million in gross gaming revenue in the first five months of 2021. Other popular Atlantic City based casinos are Caesars, Golden Nugget, Bally’s, Harrah’s, Tropicana and the Resorts Casino Hotel.
High level of competition
With the charter service Borgata isn’t only aiming on competing with the Hard Rock resort. The company also offers special seats on the FlyBorgata.com website for people which are in possession of an Seven Stars card from Caesars, the highest tier in the Caesars Reward program. With the two complementary seats per flight Borgata hopes to get in new high rollers.
Also available for ‘’regular players’’
When you are not in possession of the Seven Stars card, or plenty of M Life points to meet the requirements, you can also buy a special package. These packages start at $553 per person and include a roundtrip flight, a three-night stay at the resorts, and transportation between Atlantic City airport and the resort.
